Und schon geht`s weiter mit unserer Serie „Einstieg bei CIB“! Dieses Mal ist unser Interview auf Englisch, da Enrique noch dabei ist sein Deutsch zu verbessern. :-)
Question: Which work area do you come from, what is your expertise?
Answer: I graduated from the University of LPGC a few years ago and continued studying at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia for a master’s degree in research for Computer Science. While I was studying there I enrolled into a research group focused on computer architecture. After university, I worked for a computer vision company until I found CIB.
Q: Why did you apply to CIB?
A: I fell in love with the job application. I thought I was a good match for the job, and the offer of working in Gran Canaria in a stable position was the icing on the cake.
Q: Are there one or more projects at CIB that have aroused your particular interest after the first few weeks? If so, which ones?
A: CIB PDF brewer, it is a powerful utility that can do almost everything. The DeepER project also called my attention, I think AI is the right bet for solving complex problems, like character recognition.
Q: What is your everyday working life like at the moment?
A: So far it has been an exciting ride. I am still getting familiar with our applications’ internals and I am trying every day to contribute as much as I can to CIB.
Q: What tips can you give other applicants for the selection process at CIB?
A: To not hesitate and apply. There will be interesting projects at CIB to grow professionally.
Q: What did you like most about the job start at CIB?
A: I did all the selection process remotely and I got a huge surprise when I entered the building in Calle Perojo for the first time :). And the working environment in the office is superb!
