Interview with Georg M.
Hello Georg!
What did you study and how did you end up dropping out?
I studied technical computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich. I dropped out because of problems in my private life.
How did you come to CIB?
The way it used to be done, I opened the yellow pages and came across CIB. I finally came to the company because I needed a job quickly and CIB gave me the opportunity for a new start.
How did you get started?
I started with technical support work, then I trained as a data processing clerk (now an IT specialist) and then worked as a network administrator.
Where are you now?
For the past 18 years, I have been working as a technical developer for CIB at the customer’s site.
What do you like most about CIB?
It’s hard to sum up a quarter of a century of experience in one sentence. The best way to describe it is probably “the uncomplicated, collegial atmosphere”. Despite the fact that I work directly for the customer, there are always opportunities to network with colleagues through the company’s leisure activities. Whether at bowling evenings, joint dinners or even weekends or the annual end-of-year party that CIB organises for the employees.
What tips do you have for dropouts?
I can’t give a blanket recommendation, it always depends on the individual case. But if you realise that studying is not the right thing to do, then an apprenticeship at CIB is definitely a very good option.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
