Last week, an attractive workshop was held at our headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on CIB seven - our Open Source Fork of the BPM Engine Camunda 7. Developers from our sites in Germany, Austria and Portugal met in Gran Canaria to learn about the latest customizations and enhancements of the BPM Community Edition. In addition to the technical sessions, team building was also instrumental in making the week productive and eventful.
Kick-off and first insights
The week began with an introduction to CIB seven and the central themes of the Workshop that would be addressed in different sessions during the week:
- New open source front ends
- Community Features
- Enterprise Features
- CIB ins7ght
- CIB seven Marketplace
This was followed directly by a hands-on session so that the participants could gain their first practical experience with the new features.

Hands-On & Experts-Session
The workshop was all about practical implementation. In addition to intensive hands-on sessions, a special highlight was a session with Ryan Johnston from Summit58. His input brought exciting perspectives and impetus to the discussions.
Another session focused on the use of AI agents in in CIB seven y CIB flow. This highlighted how artificial intelligence can make process automation even more efficient.
Hackathon for prototype completion
A particular highlight after seven days of intensive exchange was the hackathon, during which the teams worked on finalizing their prototypes. In a creative and concentrated environment, the developers were able to further develop their ideas and work on their first functional solutions.

On the last day, the results were presented, and what better way to celebrate than with a dinner together! At the closing dinner, participants celebrated their successes and bid farewell to the week with renewed energy.

Conclusion: More than just a technical workshop
The CIB seven workshop was a great success. In addition to the exchange of knowledge and the improvement of our BPM platform, a third objective achieved was the great cohesion of the team.
By combining intensive work and entertaining after-work activities, our participants look forward to the future development of CIB seven in a productive and highly motivated way.
We look forward to the next steps to see how the prototypes developed during the week will evolve.
Let´s CIB!
