Platform Engineer (DevOps Engineer / Cloud Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer) 

As Platform Engineer at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in both our internal and external-facing operations. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and managing our internal platforms, automating processes, and collaborating with various teams to streamline operations.

You will also design, integrate, and manage our cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. A key aspect of your role will be to integrate security practices into our DevOps processes, embodying the principles of DevSecOps, and ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure.

You will be instrumental in creating a robust infrastructure that supports our software development lifecycle, from coding and testing to deployment and monitoring. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our capabilities, improving system reliability, and driving efficiency across the organization.

This role requires a deep understanding of modern software engineering practices, cloud technologies, a strong focus on customer service, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality, reliable systems.

Your tasks

  • • Continuously improve development, deployment, and operational processes to increase team efficiency and accelerate value creation.
  • Build and maintain a self-service platform for developer teams to streamline their work and foster independence. Empower them to easily adopt modern DevOps methodologies and our internal development platform.
  • Design, implement, and manage our cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Work closely with our clients and partners to understand their needs and provide tailored cloud solutions.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement robust disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making to ensure our practices are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to understand their needs and plan for future requirements.
  • Provision scalable and fail-safe container-based platforms using technologies like Kubernetes on Amazon Web Services.

Your profile

  • You have the ambition to continuously improve both development, deployment, and operational processes to increase team efficiency and create value faster.
  • You are eager to participate in building a self-service platform for development teams.
  • You have knowledge of building scalable and resilient container-based platforms (Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services).
  • You have a good understanding of Linux systems and their administration.
  • You have good knowledge of versioning tools such as Git and have proven coding experience in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python).
  • You have experience with GitOps practices and tools and understand how to use Git as a single source of truth for declarative infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform) and applications (Helm).
  • You have hands-on experience using cloud-native tools for continuous integration and deployment, observability and security (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana and NeuVector).
  • You have a solid understanding of security principles and practices and are experienced in implementing security measures in a DevOps context.
  • You have experience with monitoring systems, troubleshooting and implementing robust disaster recovery plans.
  • Good German and English skills complete your profile.
